CBP Inulin
A natural prebiotic and powerful moisturizer
CBP Inulin is a natural, soluble fiber found in many plants. We extract inulin from chicory root grown by our own farmers and processed at our own production facilities here in the Netherlands.
The food industry uses inulin as a prebiotic fiber to help improve digestive health and control diabetes. The personal care industry uses it as an active ingredient in a wide range of formulations, thanks to its prebiotic, moisturizing, and microbiome-restoring properties (facial, baby, elderly, feminine hygiene, and antibacterial care products).
Our CBP inulin is 100% natural, non-toxic, biodegradable, vegan, and COSMOS certified.

The prebiotic
Prebiotics promote the growth or activity of beneficial microorganisms. As a prebiotic, inulin does just this, and this is why it's used as an active ingredient in a wide range of cosmetics designed to protect your skin. It helps prevent redness, dryness, and aging due to exposure to the elements.
The humectant
Humectants help our skin absorb water and remoisturize. As a humectant, inulin is also used as a skin-conditioning agent in products designed to help keep our skin soft and smooth.
The texturizer
Inulin also helps add texture to your formulations and is a perfect alternative to other chemicals. Molecule chain length determines the required texture.
Inulin grades
We provide inulin in several grades:
- CBP Inulin – powder, standard, medium solubility
- CBP Inulin LC – powder, long-chain, moderate solubility
- CBP Inulin FOS – powder, short-chain, very high solubility
